Marching: Women's protests reveal frustration with Trump

Pent-up frustration with what they perceive as the rightward turn of government led to the massive women's marches held around the country and the world this past weekend.

Most of the vitriol was directed at new President Donald Trump. It was no coincidence that the marches came on his first full day in office.

Trump drew the ire of many women during the presidential campaign and when he unexpectedly won it was considered an apocalyptic event by many.

Of course, it wasn't. After eight years of Barack Obama and his liberal administration it was time for the pendulum to swing back. But that didn't stop nearly a million people from taking to the streets to express their dismay at Trump and his agenda.

The protests were peaceful but powerful. They sent a strong message that there are large numbers of people who oppose the apparent seismic shift in the political landscape that Trump's election wrought.

We'll see if the protests continue or if the movement is just a passing demonstration of the frustration many Americans apparently feel just now.
