High rankings: Wayne Memorial Hospital gets good grades in national survey

Wayne Memorial Hospital has received high marks from U.S. News & World Report for its performance in treating patients with congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD.

The ratings will be published in the magazine's list of best hospitals for 2017.

We are proud of the hospital's administration and its team of doctors and nurses who were a part of putting the facility near the top among nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide.

According to its web site, nearly two million hospital in-patients a year face surgery or special care that poses unusual technical challenges or significantly increased risk of death or harm because of age, physical condition or existing conditions. The rankings provide a tool to help patients find the skilled inpatient care they need.

Wayne Memorial Hospital is a general medical and surgical hospital with 274 beds. Survey data for the latest year available shows that more than 60,000 patients visited the hospital's emergency room and that it had nearly 11,000 admissions.

A hospital is one of the key components of the quality of life in any city or county and Wayne is lucky to have a hospital here with such high standards.
