Leaders needed: Chamber program is a plus for Wayne County

Leadership Wayne County is looking for young people who want to learn more about the county in order that they might take effective roles in leading it forward.

The program has produced more than 400 graduates over the past three decades and has made an indelible difference in guiding the county toward becoming a better place to live and raise a family.

Participants in the program get an inside look at the businesses, government and community organizations that will enable them to better understand the way the county works. The eight-month program is open to young people who have demonstrated an aptitude for leadership.

The deadline for applying for a spot in the program is Thursday and we encourage people who have not yet decided to apply to go ahead and do so -- the community needs you. Our future, to a great extent, depends on quality leaders.
