Trump's taxes: Presumptive GOP nominee is being too coy about records

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says there is nothing in his tax records that is worth making them public at the present time.

He said he will release the records after a current audit is completed.

We're not saying Mr. Trump is trying to hide anything, but he should be willing to release the information now, while voters are trying to make up their minds about who to vote for in the race for the nation's highest office.

Trump has said he knows more about taxes than anyone and that he, like all of us, tries to pay as little as possible. Voters deserve to know just how much or how little he has been paying. His approach to paying taxes is something the public should know about, and we know virtually nothing at this point. He should be willing to shed some light on the issue, if only to reassure voters who are considering handing him the keys to the White House.
