Trump vs. GOP? Party's front-runner sets the stage for a walkout

As the Republican national convention draws closer and it looks more and more as if front-runner Donald Trump will not have enough delegates locked up to automatically secure the nomination, the bitter infighting within the party has turned to open warfare.

Trump this week criticized the party's leadership, calling out Republican National Chairman Reince Priebus by name, and accusing the GOP leadership of conspiring against him.

Trump is concerned that he will enter the convention with the most delegates but be denied the nomination in the end. He said the system is rigged to stop him.

"Give us all a break," retorted Priebus, who said Trump should know the rules the party goes by in choosing its eventual candidate.

Trump said the rules are a "disgrace" and that Priebus "should be ashamed of himself."

All this suggests that the specter of a Trump walkout -- taking his supporters with him -- are becoming more likely as the convention nears.
