Vote: Exercise your right. It matters.

Tuesday is a big day in the life of every resident of Wayne County.

It is primary Election Day, and with it comes the chance that everyone has to exercise his or her right to cast a ballot for the candidates they believe should lead this county, state and nation.

The big race, of course, is for president, and there are no lack of opportunities to express your opinion there. You've heard little else for the past few months except the merits and demerits of the candidates on both sides of the aisle. This is your chance to have your say in how North Carolina goes.

But there are plenty of other races that will be determined, too. From school board to county commissioner to judge, voters will decide who will go on to the November balloting and who won't.

Many votes have already been cast in early voting. But the real decisions will be made Tuesday, and you don't want to look back and know that you passed up your opportunity to have your say in how this county, this state, this nation, is run.

Voting is a right. One that was bought and paid for with the lives of soldiers, sailors and airmen. It is as much a responsibility as a right.

Don't waste it.
