Informed: Paris might seem far away; but it is only a plane ride away

It is not easy to watch the developments in the aftermath of the Paris terror attacks.

The stories of those who have been lost are heartbreaking -- and for some people here, reminiscent of another day when thousands of innocents lost their lives to terrorists.

So while we might pay attention to the news, some people will shy away -- because this attack did not happen here.

And that is where they will make their mistake.

Truth is it could easily have happened here.

We are in a new game where terrorists masquerade as regular guys. And if we get complacent, if we really think it can't happen here again, it will.

So now is not the time to turn a blind eye, to ignore the news, the investigation, the commentary.

This is the time when making a decision about our future means knowing all the facts.

And for all of us, that should be Job 1.
