Ka-good idea: Proposal for community playground a no-brainer

What a great idea.

There is no question that nothing could bring a community closer together than working on a project -- together.

Local businessman David Weil's proposal -- which has already received some expert direction from former state Board of Elections director and now private consultant, Gary Bartlett -- is to seek the chance to build a playground from scratch in this community.

Not only would it be a great place for the children, it would also be a chance to get neighbors from all over the city together to make a difference and to get to know one another.

There will be the initial questions, of course, where to build it and what it would entail, but once those details were ironed out, it could really be the first step in even more projects that we do as a community.

One of the great criticisms of modern society is that we do not know each other anymore.

Projects like this allow people of all backgrounds the chance to meet with a common purpose. That fellowship is how bridges are built.

And when those connections develop, what results is a stronger community.

That is a goal we should all support.
