An Easter book: How about a little reading along with all that candy eating?
It's Easter break and we all know what that means -- children at loose ends.
And while there is certainly a good reason to give the kids a break from school books, now is the perfect time to encourage them to do something else -- to read for fun.
The library has plenty of books that could capture the interest of just about any youngster -- from mysteries to madcap adventures. The librarian will even help choose the perfect story.
One book, one week -- why not?
The importance of reading skills cannot possibly be overemphasized as a factor in the success -- academic and otherwise -- of young people.
Here's a perfect chance to give them a head start.
