Health alert: There is still a need to talk about Obamacare

Obamacare is still not right. Just ask the doctors who have to navigate it and those who have lost their insurance because of it.

And don't forget that there is a reckoning coming -- large numbers of people who are about to get pretty hefty bills or fines because of the complicated process by which health insurance is now provided.

So it is a good thing that the state's governor will be among those who want to talk about it with President Barack Obama.

And it is also important that those who are starting their terms as congressional leaders today make sure it is on the agenda this year.

Truth be told, the legislation needs a tuneup, especially considering the hefty price we are paying to have the system.

The U.S. needs a way to make health care accessible to all Americans. And if we can do that with a program that targets those who need help, great.

But there has to be an understanding as well that there is a cost and hurdles to overcome.

Perhaps this will be the year when we reach that middle ground of taking care of those who need assistance while not fleecing the taxpayers.

No matter what, it is time to get the discussion started.
