Been to the fair? There's still time for one more run.

Wayne County does not just have a county fair. It has an award-winning regional fair.

And if your schedule has not allowed you to do so before now, it is worth taking a trip out to the fairgrounds before this year's event shuts down for the season.

There are a lot of people -- unsung heroes -- who work very hard throughout the year to make sure the fair comes off without a hitch.

Their goal is not only to provide a fun evening for families, but also to educate the public about the importance of agriculture in their community.

So there is a bit to learn if you make the trip.

But in addition to the animals, the shows and the rides, there is also plenty to eat. No fair trip is complete without a funnel cake or a caramel apple.

Those who have worked so hard on this year's event deserve our thanks. So let them know you appreciate their efforts with one more visit -- and another round of cotton candy.
