Little notice: Bureaucratic failures emphasize need for more caution

It wasn't much of a story as far as much of the rest of the media were concerned.

But it speaks volumes as to why this nation needs to consider smaller government sooner rather than later.

Remember the IRS? The agency that had enough time to target American conservative groups and to have lavish training sessions in Las Vegas?

Well, it seems those same workers did not have time to actually do their job.

An audit report that was released Monday shows that IRS employees did not do due diligence when it came to following the procedures for finding billions of dollars in unpaid taxes.

The findings basically reported that the workers did not even really try to recover the funds -- just added the accounts to the uncollectible file.

This is just one of many recent examples of large bureaucratic agencies that have been labeled incompetent, lazy and wasting taxpayer money. This is a problem we have to address.

Remember, these are the people the government is entrusting with our health care.
