No surprise: Is it a shock that so many of the illegals from surge missed dates?

If there are any federal immigration officials who are taken aback by the news that many thousands of the people caught crossing the border illegally have not kept their pre-arranged appointments with immigration agents, they should be fired immediately.

As should the political geniuses who came up with the idea of releasing these illegal immigrants into the U.S. in the first place.

The reality is that it is unlikely these illegal immigrants who were released into the U.S. population will ever be tracked or vetted. We have no idea who they are, whether they should be here or where they are now.

And that is scary.

This whole problem is the result of playing politics -- another effort to court Hispanic favor as another election looms.

And it was simply one of the stupidest decisions ever made when it comes to immigration.

If you are concerned about how this issue is going to be resolved, be attentive.

There could be even more surprises -- and decisions made quietly about what happens next that fly in the face of what most Americans want to see happen with regard to immigration.

Vigilance and votes are about the only way to change this course.
