Coalition strong: U.S. must continue to push for more cooperation among nations

We could do it alone, but we shouldn't.

The continuing crisis in the Middle East is never really going to be over until more than a few people say, "That's enough."

And hearing that Great Britain is now considering its own commitment to the coalition that is leading the airstrikes in Iraq and Syria is nothing short of heartening.

And why it is so harkens back to those school yard days.

When you want to beat a bully, the best thing to do is to gather up a bunch of friends with the same objective.

And that is exactly what needs to be done now.

With a large number of nations contributing to the effort, and resources taken from multiple spots, there is an increased likelihood that we will be able to send the Islamic State packing -- and to track down its operatives before they do damage domestically.

It was our job to take the lead and to show the first signs of courage.

Now, we have every right and obligation to make sure that other nations assist in the fight.

There is a light at the end of this tunnel, but it will not happen overnight. Defeating this enemy will require planning and dogged determination.

But there is no question, it is possible.

And it is an effort that will be made all that much stronger if there is more than one group manning the oars.
