Your stories: Today's special edition showcases community's best

We share with you today just a few of the reasons why you should be proud to call this community home.

Our 2014 Progress edition "Home is Where the Stories Are" showcases stories about people in your community who make a difference -- and whose stories, we hope, will inspire you as much as they have inspired us.

One of the new parts of the edition this year is something we plan to have every year. Our "Legacies" section includes two honorees -- former County Commissioner Andy Anderson and community volunteer Bill Edgerton. We chose them for the incredible contributions they have made to Wayne County and for the humble and dedicated manner in which they serve.

We are proud to make them the first of what we hope will be a long line of honorees whose efforts are recognized in this edition every year.

Thank you gentlemen for all you have given to this county.

It reminds us every year of just how much we have to be proud of in this community.
