Fish for kids: Haven't eaten dinner yet? Head on down to fish fry

The Wayne County Shriners don't spend a ton of time telling the world what they do for sick children across the country.

But if you have heard one of the stories from one of the families whom they have helped, you understand in a moment why they work so hard to keep the Shriners hospitals open and serving children.

But like any good effort, making sure these children get the medical care they need requires generous donations from caring individuals.

And today, just that sort of donation gets you not only the chance to help others, but a fish dinner besides.

There is still time to enjoy a meal from the Shriners Fish Fry, which is being held in Goldsboro and Mount Olive today -- and to make a difference in a child's life.

So come on down and bring your appetite.

And don't forget to get your dessert.
