Goose, gander: Parties' arguments seem to always miss the point

One of the more interesting aspects of working with political parties is watching how easily they point fingers, but how slow they are to look in the mirror.

Such is the case with the arguments over voting rights in North Carolina.

Setting aside the fact that asking someone to show identification is simply not that taxing a request, the funny thing about this whole argument is the finger-pointing of voter suppression and political gerrymandering.

Ironic, isn't it?

Why do you think voter hours were changed and one-stop, same-day voting were created in the first place?

That's right -- the DEMOCRATS thought it would get more of their voters to the polls.

The sanctimonious ramblings of political parties these days are sometimes more hilarious than a reason for true concern.

But this "call for action" is nothing but hypocrisy.

If we want to discuss getting more people to the polls -- fine.

But let's do it while calling this latest battle what it really is -- politics.
