A thought ... Ever wonder why there are no documented cases of voter fraud?

It doesn't require much space to talk about, but you won't hear much discussion about the validity of one of the key complaints of those who are up in arms about North Carolina's new voter identification law.

What you will read -- and hear -- from most of those covering the debate is that there are "few documented cases of voter fraud."

Here is your assignment for the day: Think about why.

Could it be that when someone falsifies a signature, gives a fake address or disappears into the night, that it is not that easy to find them, apprehend them and then to prosecute them?

Could it also be that such investigations might not only be fruitless, but are also not a high priority in some offices?

There will be much grandstanding over the next few weeks about racism and voter suppression. Don't believe it. It is nothing but political spin.

Asking for an ID is common practice -- and offering to provide one for free eliminates any undue burden.

The rest is, just simply, nothing but hot air.
