Talk, talk, talk: Washington is good at talking. Will it be as good at listening?

There always seems to be someone with an opinion in Washington who is not afraid to share it.

The real problem comes when you realize there is a bunch of talking going on and not a whole lot of listening.

It is curious how many lawmakers think they know exactly what the American citizenry is thinking, yet do not carry out policies that reflect that interest.

Truth is, they just think they know because they are too busy pontificating to really listen.

And there is going to be a lot of just that in the coming months.

There are several debates on the floor and a slew of lawmakers who are sounding off about the best course of action.

Our goal should be to make sure that those who will make the decisions in our name actually know how we feel and intend to carry out those wishes.

It should be an interesting ride.
