Ride away: Does anyone really want to hear any more from Edwards, Hunter?

Now, it's official. It is over.

The questions about whether there should have been charges brought at all remain, but, at long last, we will not have to listen to any more testimony about former Sen. John Edwards and his distasteful philanderings with his mistress Rielle Hunter.

Well, at least not from him. Hunter is now planning a book tour and interviews of her own.

Wonder how that will end up.

Edwards hopes he will have a second act, but after this performance, most people are thinking lying low might be a better plan.

However, rest assured, you are going to have to listen to more about the Edwards affair as Hunter attempts to profit from what can only be described as despicable behavior.

That is, unless we just say no.

Hunter and Edwards seem to believe that they are A-listers and that their actions are of great interest to the rest of us.

Wrong. Both are simply cliches. And they will have about as long a shelf-life. We should not reward them for their reprehensible behavior.

Edwards got away with something. He will answer for that elsewhere.

In the meantime, he and his oddball mistress should fade away into the sunset.

And we should feel sorry for the children whose lives they have damaged in the process.
