One more time: Regional library is a good idea for northern end of county, too

When you have a good idea, why not figure out a way to replicate it?

And that is exactly what Wayne County should do in the northern end of the county when it comes to plans for a future library.

A strong, regional branch, just like the one in Mount Olive, would be a great addition to a rapidly growing area that is likely to have much need for such a facility in the future.

And if it is possible to get the same community involvement in the northern end of the county, well then, par for the course.

The Mount Olive library project has been a model for what citizens can do if they pull together and reach for a goal.

Perhaps when the offer for the new facility was made, no one really thought there would be such a response. How wrong they were.

Libraries are critical parts of communities. They connect people and make resources available to anyone with a library card. They promote learning and reading, critical skills now and always. They are a great place to invest in the county's future.

And now that the county has one success story under its belt, it is time for another one.
