Jones-Coley
Quique Joleen Jones of Chesapeake, Va., and Allen Eugene “Gene” Coley, formerly of Washington, D.C., exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 19, 2014, at 4:30 p.m. at Saint Mark Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, with pastor Percy L. Barnes and General Bishop Alton A. Smith officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Hughes Foster and Carlinda Biggs Jones of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Clinton C. Jones Sr. and Roe Mayo Lanier Jones of Williamston, N.C., and the late David Biggs and Otelia Smith Biggs of Darden, N.C. Extended family also includes the late James E. and Ada T. Tyner of Williamston, N.C., maternal foster grandparents.
The bride and groom are both 1985 graduates of Goldsboro High School.
The bride attended Winston-Salem State University and Strayer University majoring in business administration. She is employed as a call center manager at Sutherland Global Services and is an event planner.
The groom is the son of the late Flonnie B. Woodard George of Goldsboro and Mr. and Mrs. Virginia and Odell Coley Jr. of Riverdale, Md. He is the grandson of the late Ethelene and Odell Coley Sr. of Goldsboro and the late Allen and Mary Lee Woodard of Goldsboro.
The groom served in the United States Marine Corps. He is employed as a senior IT analyst at the U.S. Department of Energy.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The groom’s maternal aunt, Ms. Dorothy Woodard Hardy, illuminated a portion of the unity candle, representing the groom’s mother.
The bride wore a white, strapless sweetheart pick-up satin ballgown with beaded lace detail throughout the gown and a chapel train. She wore a matching veil with beaded lace accents and a pearl and sparkling headpiece. Her bouquet was adorned with coral, purple and white calla lilies.
Mrs. Sonya L. Jones Goodlett of Jamestown, N.C., sister of the bride, served as matron of honor, while honorary bridesmaids were Tracey Vick Battle of Goldsboro, N.C., LaShonda Willis Cross of Upper Marlboro, Md., Kiyoko Thomas Dorsey of Bartlett, Tenn., Nina Jacobs of Cary, N.C., Melissa Jamison of Greensboro, N.C., Lola Kirkland of Charlotte, N.C., Robyn Price of Grovetown, Ga., Deyait Watson-Irvine of Durham, N.C., and LaShaughn Cahill Williams of Keller, Texas.
Mr. Kelvin Woodard Sr. of Raleigh, N.C., brother of the groom, served as best man, while honorary groomsmen were Andre Boykin of Gunpowder, Md., Marcus Goodlett of Jamestown, N.C., Larry Hardy of Dudley, N.C., Kenneth Howell of Goldsboro, N.C., Keith Jolley of Raleigh, N.C., Terence Jones of Goldsboro, N.C., and Ricardo Rowland of Durham, N.C.
Miss Cordialla Tonyelle George of Goldsboro, N.C., sister of the groom, lit a memorial candle in memory of the groom’s mother and maternal grandmother.
LaKhia Fuller, Muira Goodlett and Dyamond George, nieces of the bride and groom, were junior bridesmaids. Junior ushers were Jaden Goodlett and Kelvin Woodard Jr., nephews of the bride and groom. Miss Nakeda Atkinson, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Mr. Tyler Alston, honorary nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Mrs. Ann Rowe directed the wedding. Mrs. Barbara Vick and Miss Cheryl Brewington provided wedding and reception decorations.
Mr. Moses Worrell of Philadelphia, Pa., was the photographer. Mr. Marcus Williams of Chesapeake, Va., of Intellectual Media, was the videographer.
Mrs. Terry Fenwick made the wedding cake. Host/hostesses were Miss Constance Coram, Mrs. Earlene Bolden, Mrs. Angie Woods and Mr. James Sherard.
A program of wedding music was provided by Mr. Kevin Alston, pianist/vocalist, and Mr. Lemonte Watson and Dr. Alma Jenkins, vocalists.
Special guests were honorary sister of the bride, Mrs. Esi Coleman Obeng Darko of Accra Ghana, West Africa; honorary sister of the bride, Miss Regina Spence of Greensboro, N.C.; and goddaughter of the bride, Miss Ashley Myles of Morrisville, N.C.
A casual reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club immediately following the ceremony, with vocalist Mrs. Jeanetta Renee Faison of Goldsboro, N.C., the live band Ordnary Gentlemen of Goldsboro and DJ Debonair “Marcelle Williams” of Raleigh, N.C.
After a wedding trip to the Caribbean, the couple resides in Chesapeake, Va.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Saint Mark Church, catered by McCall’s BBQ and Seafood Restaurant of Goldsboro. The couple chose to give gifts to their attendants at this time.
A pre-wedding celebration was held by the bride’s family March 29, 2014, at Murray’s BBQ and Seafood Restaurant, 413 E. New Hope Road, Goldsboro.
