Umbel-Womble
Brandy Nichole Umbel of Columbus, Miss., and James Dorsett Womble III of Navarre, Fla., exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 19 at 6 p.m. on the beach in Seacrest, Fla. The Rev. Ken Delo officiated.
The bride is the daughter of the late Donna Lard Perkins of Florence, Ala., and the granddaughter of the late Mr. John Lard of Florence and Mrs. Ruth Lard of Florence.
The bride graduated from Central High School in Florence, Ala., and Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, with a degree in elementary education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. She is also certified in K-12 for math. She is employed as an eighth-grade math teacher at Columbus Middle School in Columbus.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Dorsett Womble Jr. of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Dorsett Womble of Murfreesboro, N.C., and the late Dr. and Mrs. Augustus Alexander of Murfreesboro, N.C.
The groom graduated from Wayne Country Day School in Goldsboro, N.C. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received a master’s in advanced aeronautical science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Major Womble is a pilot in the United States Air Force at Hurlburt Field in Florida.
The bride was escorted by her son, David Allen Umbel Jr., and also given in marriage by him.
The bride wore a sheer matte jersey gown with an empire bodice and lace cap sleeves.
She wore a Cheiranthus flower in her hair, and carried a bouquet of white roses and white hydrangeas.
Stewart McLean Womble, brother of the groom, served as best man.
The groom’s parents hosted a dinner after the ceremony at the Great Southern Cafe in Seaside, Fla.
The couple will be taking a wedding trip this summer. They reside in Navarre, Fla.
A bridal shower was hosted by friends at the home of Paige Ross and Nickey Chastain in Columbus.
