Lydia Marlowe Ivey and Matthew Dunlap Vaughan, both of Raleigh, were married Saturday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m. at Heptinstall House, the groom’s family home, in Aurelian Springs. The Rev. Hannah Vaughan, aunt of the groom, officiated.

The parents of the bride hosted a reception following the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilson Ivey of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Donald Ray Marlowe and the late Jean Bass Marlowe and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ivey.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Julian Vaughan II of Littleton. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Southgate Vaughan and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Massey Dunlap Jr.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner and bonfire the evening before the wedding.

The bride was escorted by her father.

Her sister-in-law, Meghann Ivey, was matron of honor.

Taylor Samantha Sledge, niece of the bride, was the bridesmaid.

The flower girl was the bride’s niece, Mollie Ruth Ivey.

Honorary bridesmaids were Brooke Lauren Baragona, Jenny Lingle Cooke, Lauren Kathleen Crawford, Grace Martin Franklin, Mary Myers Hazelgrove, Carson Norwood Hicks, Meagan Elizabeth Jennette, Rachel Brisson Kozee, Janna Lathan Neisler, Charlotte Graye Pelletier, Kimberly Senna Randolph and Catherine Hunter Snell.

Mr. Charles Julian Vaughan II served as his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Emery Donald Ivey, brother of the bride, and Jeffrey Hamilton Cooke, friend of the groom.

Ringbearer was Sledge Emery Ivey, nephew of the bride.

Register attendant was Esther Ivey Nagypal, cousin of the bride. Program attendant was Harriet Ruth Ivey, cousin of the bride.

A program of wedding music was provided by Frank Suggs.

Nola Pittman Claiborne was both the wedding and reception director.

The bride is a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and Peace College in Raleigh.

She is co-owner and sales director for Heritage Farms Premium Pork.

The groom is a graduate of Ridgecroft Academy and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He is a financial advisor at Capital Investment Companies in Raleigh.

After their wedding, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
