Amanda Nicole Brock and William Benjamin Ellis of Snow Hill exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. at Eureka United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michele Clark and the Rev. Bobby Fletcher officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Michael Dean and Rebecca Pope Brock of Eureka and the granddaughter of the late J.W. and Jacqueline Bogue Brock of Eureka and Joyce Aycock Pope and the late William Ellis Pope of Pikeville.

She is a 2005 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2008 graduate of Carteret Community College with an associate degree with a concentration of respiratory therapy. She attends Ashford University for a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management. She is employed as a registered respiratory therapist at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of Michael Kirby Ellis and Joan Alphin Ellis of Snow Hill and the grandson of Ann Ellis Denton of Stantonsburg, the late Kirby Ellis of Arba and Geraldine Alphin Medlin and the late Norwood Alphin of LaGrange.

He is a 2004 graduate of Greene Central High School. He is employed as a truck driver/heavy equipment operator at Peak Branch Construction in Snow Hill.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a satin ballgown with a pleated bodice and pick ups and an off-the-shoulder bodice with a chapel train.

Her headpiece was a two-tiered tulle fingertip-length veil embellished with a beaded stitched edge with a crystal cluster comb that featured a floral motif.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of malibu Gerbers with green button poms in the center with green pins, green hypericum berries and a salal tip collar.

Danielle Brock was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Cartrena Sharp, friend of the bride, and Beth Thigpen, cousin of the bride.

Michael Ellis was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Michael Ellis Jr., brother of the groom, and Andrew Harrison, friend of the groom.

Carol Mobley, friend of the couple, was flower girl. Allan Tucker, cousin of the groom, was ringbearer.

Toni Fletcher directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Michelle Whitlock. Darlene Brady distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Cynthia Free, pianist, and Rebecca Brock, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the fellowship hall. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Alphin, uncle and aunt of the groom, greeted guests. Mr. and Mrs. Ben King, uncle and aunt of the bride, cut the wedding cake. Mamie Chase, friend of the couple, poured punch.

After their wedding trip to the Kentucky mountains, the couple will reside in Eureka.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower Aug. 7 at Eureka United Methodist Church hosted by family and friends of the bride; a bridal shower Aug. 20 at Liberty Baptist Church in Snow Hill hosted by the groom’s mother; a lingerie shower Sept. 16 at the home of Michelle Whitlock hosted by Danielle Brock, sister of the bride, and friends; a bridal shower Sept. 18 at Nahunta Friends Church hosted by the bride’s family; and a bridal luncheon Oct. 28 at the home Mrs. Kenneth Davis hosted by the bride’s family.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Oct. 28 at Eureka United Methodist Church fellowship hall.
