Caroline Seabrook Perkins and Erik John Schultz exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 9 at 5 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in New Bern, with the Rev. H. Paul Canady and the Right Rev. George Daniels Stenhouse, great uncle of the bride, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Lee Perkins of Morehead City and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emory Parker Smith and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Berkeley Perkins of Goldsboro.

She is a summa cum laude graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Arthur Schultz of Avon Lake, Ohio, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur William Schultz of Bay Village, Ohio, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Stanley Krol of Avon Lake.

He attended Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio. He is employed in the United States Coast Guard.

The bride was escorted by her father.

She wore a formal gown of ivory satin accented with lace appliqués, pearls, sequins, crystals and beads with a chapel-length train.

The bride carried a bouquet of vintage broaches.

Alison Michelle Flynn of Sterling, Va., was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Ashley Diane Mamasis of Lakewood, Ohio, Jenna Leigh Philpot of Brick, N.J., and Walker Elizabeth Wylie of Wilmington.

Bryan Arthur Schultz was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were Brett Thomas Bucher of Ottowa Hills, Ohio, Patrick James Maxwell of Avon Lake, Parker Stenhouse Perkins of Morehead City, brother of the bride, Adam Joseph Schultz of Avon Lake, brother of the groom, and Matthew James Rehker of Avon Lake.

Benjamin Lee Perkins Jr. and Kate Nicole Wronko-Olschner distributed programs.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Hilton Inn in New Bern.

The couple will reside in Wilmington.

Events held before the wedding included a shower March 6 hosted by the groom’s mother; a bridal luncheon in April at Winslow’s in Greenville hosted by roommates of the bride; a trip to Atlantic City, N.J., in June hosted by roommates of the bride; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon July 8 at The Chelsea Restaurant in New Bern hosted by Mary Cleaves Smith, aunt of the bride.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Morgan’s Grill and Tavern in New Bern.
