Heather Paige Darden and Hunter James Casey exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 25 at 3 p.m. at Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with Dr. Elvin Butts officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Leon Alvis Darden Jr. and Cindy Smith Darden of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Mary Elizabeth Darden, the late Leon Alvis Darden Sr. and Russell Parks and Joyce Worrell Smith of Goldsboro.

She graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2007 and North Carolina State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in horticulture.

The groom is the son of Lee Randolph and Pamela Cox Casey of Goldsboro and the grandson of Rose Best Casey and the late Martin Ward Casey of Goldsboro and James Felix and Janet Kennedy Cox of Richlands.

He graduated from Rosewood High School in 2006 and North Carolina State University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in horticulture. He is employed as assistant production manager at Casey Nursery Inc.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory allover lace A-line gown with beaded motif detail on the bodice and a chapel train.

Her headpiece was a short ivory veil with beaded flowers and a scalloped edge.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink Gerber daisies, green button mums, green cymbidium orchids, white freesia, pink wax flower and fiddlehead fern fronds.

Carly Boyette was her friend’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Jillian Casey, sister of the groom, and Danielle Vinson and Christen Flowers, cousins of the bride.

Lee Casey was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Zeb Darden, brother of the bride; Matt Casey, brother of the groom; and Byron Pilkington and Silas Cole, friends of the couple.

Makayla Smith, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.

Pam Gurley directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Mary Scott Manning, aunt of the bride. Savannah Mills, cousin of the bride, and Samantha Casey, cousin of the groom, distributed the programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Tom Casey, uncle of the groom, pianist, and Steve Hart and Danielle Hare, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

After their wedding trip to Bryson City, N.C., the couple will reside in Pikeville.

Events held before the wedding included a home and garden cookout and wedding shower May 15 at the home of Keith and Susan Smith hosted by the brides aunts and uncles on her mother’s side; a bridal shower May 22 at the home of James and Janet Cox, grandparents of the groom; a wedding shower May 28 at Woods Grove Church hosted by aunts of the bride on her father’s side; a bachelor weekend June 3 in Topsail Island hosted by the groomsmen; and a bachelorette getaway June 7 in Topsail Island hosted by the bridesmaids.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Village Steakhouse and Pub.
