Susan Ashley Jones of Mount Olive and Bradley Scott Thigpen of Mount Olive exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 18 at 2 p.m. at Long Ridge Free Will Baptist Church in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Frank Harrison officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Eugene and Cindy Jones of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of the late Adrain and Fannie Jones, Susan Holmes and the late Stephen Holmes of Mount Olive.

She is a 2004 graduate of North Duplin High School and a 2009 graduate of Wayne Community College with a degree in medical office administration.

The groom is the son of Gary and Debbie Thigpen of Mount Olive and the grandson of Alfred Thigpen and the late Margie Thigpen of Mount Olive.

He is a 1999 graduate of East Duplin High School. He is employed with Tri- County Electric.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a formal gown of white satin with a strapless sweetheart neckline. Beading and embroidery flowed throughout the bodice to the Basque V-waist. The full A-line skirt was enhanced with the same beading and embroidery along the hem and back of the inverted pleated semi-cathedral-length train. She also wore her late grandmother’s black onyx ring.

Her headpiece was a white veil of silk illusion with a beaded trim.

The bride carried a handtied bouquet of Gerber daisies.

Jennifer Jones was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Tanya Bright, sister of the groom; Julie Holliday, cousin of the bride; and Barbara Birkin, friend of the bride.

Kevin Taylor was his friend’s best man.

Groomsmen were Gary Thigpen, father of the groom, and Larry Thigpen and Danny Wright, uncles of the groom.

Brittany Jones and Karley Kornegay, friends of the bride, were honorary bridesmaids.

Caroline Holmes, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Hunter Bright, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.

Penny Kornegay directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Brenda Holliday, aunt of the bride. Bill Holliday, uncle of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Rita Herring, pianist, and Kent Lane, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s family hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall.

After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Mount Olive.

Events held before the wedding included a Pampered Chef party March 19 hosted by Jennifer Jones and Barbara Birkin; a miscellaneous shower May 22 hosted by family and friends; and a lingerie shower June 11 hosted by Jennifer Jones and Barbara Birkin.

The groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner June 17 at Lone Ridge Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall.
