Jessica Renee Fields and William Hooper Bryan II exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 9 at 4:30 p.m. at Newton Grove Baptist Church, with Chris Watkins officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Kay Sutton Fields and the late James H. “Junior” Fields of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of the late James H. Fields of Mount Olive and Mary Fields and Elbert and Romell Sutton of Newton Grove.

She is a 2000 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2007 graduate of Wake Technical Community College. She is employed at Transformer Maintenance and Service in accounting.

The groom is the son of William H. and Donna Thornton Bryan of Newton Grove and the grandson of Catherine Bryan, the late Sam Bryan, Edna Thornton and the late Roy Thornton of Newton Grove.

He is a 1997 graduate of Hobbton High School. He is self-employed as a carpenter.

The bride was given in marriage by her mother.

She wore an A-line gown with corset closure. The tulle was embellished with metallic lace.

Her headpiece was made of pearls, with the veil edged with crystals.

The bride carried pink peonies and roses with a picture broach of her father attached.

Deanna Dodson and April Westbrook were matrons of honor.

Bridesmaids were Heather King, Leigh Thornton and Kellie Blackman.

William Bryan was the best man.

Groomsmen were Earl Ray Cox, Brandon Westbrook, Micheal Thornton, Kenny Fields and John Ashley Westbrook.

Savannah Baggett was the junior bridesmaid.

Honorary bridesmaids were Brittany and Heather Fields, Jessy Barefoot, Ragan Pearson and Connor Bullard

Katie Dodson was the flower girl. Sam Thornton was ringbearer.

Sharon Raynor and Jane Grantham directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Terry and Tammy Thornton. Haley Fail and Emily Watkins distributed programs.

A program of music was provided by Bob Makey, sound technician; Loretta Barefoot, pianist; and Frankie Puryear, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, the couple’s parents hosted a reception at Southern Wayne Country Club. Sue Britt was director. Dale and Dana Person, Mac and Hilda Sutton and Ronnie and Betty Allen greeted guests. DeLaney Pearson was reception attendant.

After their wedding trip to the North Carolina and Tennessee mountains, the couple will reside in Mount Olive.

Events held before the wedding included a Christmas shower in December at the home of Larry and Jane Grantham; a miscellaneous shower Feb. 6 at Manley Grove Church hosted by church family and friends; a kitchen shower Feb. 19 at the home of April Westbrook; a lingerie shower March 12 at the home of Jessy Barefoot hosted by Ms. Barefoot, Ragan Pearson and Betty Allen; a miscellaneous shower March 13 at Newton Grove Baptist Church hosted by church family and friends; and a shower March 15 at Transformer Maintenance and Service hosted by co-workers of the bride.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner April 8 at Newton Grove Baptist Church.
