Regina Leigh Everett of Goldsboro and Dustin Colt Gurley of Savannah, Ga., exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 19 at 5 p.m. at Frank H. Kenan Chapel at Landfall in Wilmington, with the Rev. Joey Lancaster officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Michael E. Everett Jr. and Daphne Evans Everett of Princeton and the granddaughter of Bill and Miriam Sawrey of Goldsboro, the late Michael Everett of Mount Olive and the late Edgar Lee and Mae Creech Evans of Princeton.

She is a 2004 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2008 graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with a nutrition concentration. She was a founding member of the North Carolina Delta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She attends the School of Pharmacy at Campbell University for a master’s degree in clinical research. Prior to relocating to Savannah, she was employed as a clinical research assistant with the bariatrics research group in the department of surgery at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

The groom is the son of Ralph Douglas Gurley of Goldsboro and Kay Sullivan Gurley of Pikeville and the grandson of Janice Pittman Gurley, the late Ralph Aaron Gurley and Charles Ray and Marguerite Howell Sullivan of Goldsboro.

He is a 2005 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies with a concentration in broadcast design and multimedia. He was a member of Lambda Pi Eta academic honor society. He attends Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia for a master’s degree in motion media design, where he will be a SCAD Graduate Honors Fellow.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless faille gown with a draped sweetheart bodice with a high-to-low cut A-line skirt. She wore high heels.

Her headpiece was a white organza flower adorned with crystal embellishments.

The bride carried a bouquet of white peonies wrapped in a white satin ribbon tied with her maternal grandmother’s brooch.

Bridesmaids were Lindsey Gilstrap of Goldsboro, sister of the groom, and Amy Johnson of Baltimore, Md., and Averi Linderman and Erin Gamble of Raleigh, friends of the bride.

Ralph Douglas Gurley was best man.

Groomsmen were Drake Gurley of Wilmington, brother of the groom; Michael Everett III of Princeton, brother of the bride, and Travis Scott of Smithfield, friend of the groom.

Ushers were Travis Bartlett of Greenville, William Mallory of Wilmington and Turner Wood of Cary, friends of the groom.

Karis Gilstrap was flower girl. Dane Everett and Brannon Gilstrap were ringbearers.

Jessica Gibbs and Hannah Manson directed the wedding. Jerri-Rae Pearson Phillips and Jamie Pearson distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Melanie Horton, pianist, and Beth Stovall and Jane Shattuck, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Elijah’s Restaurant on the Cape Fear River Deck in Wilmington.

After their wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple will reside in Savannah.

Events held before the ceremony included an engagement party Nov. 20 at the home of Jarred and Lindsey Gilstrap hosted by the groom’s parents; a wedding shower Feb. 6 at the home of Brenda Pearson hosted by family and friends of the groom; a recipe bridal shower Feb. 12 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church hosted by family and friends of the bride; a bachelorette weekend Feb. 19 through 20 in Charlotte, hosted by Elisabeth Chapman and friends of the bride; a lingerie shower Feb. 19 at the home of Elisabeth Chapman hosted by friends of the bride; a bridal shower March 9 hosted by members of the department of surgery at Pitt County Memorial Hospital and East Carolina University co-workers of the bride; and a bachelor weekend Feb. 25 through 27 in Charlotte hosted by friends of the groom.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner March 18 at 128 South in Wilmington.
