Cassie Lea Thomas of Goldsboro and Jack Ryan Parker of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 21 at 4:30 p.m. at Walnut Creek Country Club, with the Rev. Glenn Phillips officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Chris and Wendy Thomas of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Jay and Erma Thomas of Emerald Isle, Neal and Glenda McCord of Goldsboro and Kenneth and Nina Penington of Grantham.

She is a 2005 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. She is employed as office manger at Smith Law Firm.

The groom is the son of Jerry and Nancy Parker of Pikeville and the grandson of Lelia Mae Godwin and the late Jack R. Godwin Sr. of Goldsboro.

He is a 2003 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. He is employed as an outside sales representative at Verizon Wireless/Cellular Sales.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a satin diamond white gown with a sweetheart strapless neckline. The fitted bodice was embellished with sequins and pearls accented with a drop waistline enhanced with a pleated sash at the waist. The full skirt was adorned with pickup tucks on the side and back and cascaded into a beaded semi-cathedral train.

Her headpiece was a headband of crystals and pearls that extended into a two-tiered veil of silk illusion edged with crystal beading.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses and ivory calla lilies.

Kristen Koekkoek, sister of the groom, was matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Ashley Burnette, Tori Paynter and Annie Gray Marrs, friends of the bride.

Jerry Parker was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Dustin Smith, friend of the groom; Kyle Parker, brother of the groom; Frank Koekkoek, brother in-law of the groom; and Dillon Thomas, brother of the bride.

Carleigh Koekkoek, niece of the groom, and Mallie Pennington, cousin of the bride, were flower girls. Kamdyn Koekkoek, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.

Emily Peacock directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Janie Jones, cousin of the bride. Jake Jones, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Steve Jones, vocalist, and Tommy King, soundboard technician.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.

After their wedding trip to the North Carolina coast, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a shower hosted by friends and family and a bachelorette party hosted by the matron of honor.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Walnut Creek Country Club.
