LAGRANGE — Ashley Dawn Smith and Nicholas Matthew Beamon of Lucama exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 12 at 4 p.m. at Coker Memorial Church, with Danny Freuler officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Charles Aaron and Vickie Brown Smith of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Annie Worrell Smith and the late Aaron Catfish Smith of Goldsboro and the late Ralph Andrew Brown and Elma Jean Brown of Princeton.

She is a 2004 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. She is employed as trading post manager and customer service with the Tuscarora Council, Boy Scouts of America.

The groom is the son of Sidney Bruce and Cammie Atkinson Beamon of Havelock and the grandson of Mary Goff Beamon and the late Alonza Beamon of Wilson and the late Selby and Ruth Flowers Atkinson of Lucama.

He is a 1998 Graduate of James B. Hunt High School. He is employed as a paramedic with Wilson and Wayne counties.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white strapless A-line gown covered with white pearls and beads. The back of the dress featured a corset-style back with interlaced ribbon down the back. The chapel-length train featured matching pearls and beads.

Her headpiece was a fingertip-length veil trimmed in pearls.

The bride carried a bouquet of mixed flowers.

Heather Smith was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Amy Daniels, Summer Hill and Olivia Lewis, cousins of the bride; Cassie Williams, sister of the groom; and Amanda Greeno and Kelly Barnes, friends of the couple.

Bruce Beamon was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Drew Mitchell, cousin of the bride; Jerry Atkinson, uncle of the groom; Ryan Williams, brother-in-law of the groom; and Chris Hess, friend of the groom.

Ushers were Thomas Barnes and Carl Greeno, friends of the couple.

Madison and Haley Beamon, daughters of the groom, were flowergirls. Justin Peterson, friend of the couple, was ringbearer.

Elosie Mitchell and Kristen Evans directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kristina Atkinson. Danielle and Janielle Barnes distributed programs.

Special helpers were Robin McCullough-Sutton, Audrey King, Janet Thompson, Carrie Hardin, Tammie Hill, Edna Atkinson, Karl and Teresa King, Bobby Brock and Luke Barnes.

A program of wedding music was provided by Judy Freuler, pianist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

After their wedding trip to Caymen Islands and Cozumel, Mexico, the couple will reside in Lucama.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower April 18, hosted by friends and family of the couple and a girl’s night out May 22, hosted by the bridal party.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Village Green Steak House. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
