Andrea Evans and Jesse Artis Jr. of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 3 at 2 p.m. at Walnut Creek, with apostle Norbert E. Simmons officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Tony and Linda Evans of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Sam and Mary Evans, Zelda Braswell and the late John E. Braswell Sr. of Goldsboro.

The groom is the son of Jesse Artis Sr. of Goldsboro and Vikki Marcell of Phenix City , Ala., and the grandson of the late Walter and Geneva Artis and the late Richard L. Franklin and Vivian Broadhurst of Goldsboro.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Adriane Evans was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Victoria Artis, sister of the groom, and Jennifer Braswell, cousin of the bride.

Victor Artis was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were Dexter Perry, brother of the bride, and Tony Thompson, brother of the groom.

Kenya Cox was the junior bridesmaid.

Ushers were John Jones, Jermal Braswell and Tracy Mack.

Malasia Artis was flower girl. Adrian Braswell and Jaidyn Perry were ringbearers.

Patricia Murray and Tharon Thompson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Adrienne Arrington, Crystal Artis and Natasha Artis.

A program of wedding music was provided by Keeda Darden, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.

After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower March 4 at Western Sizzlin restaurant hosted by co-workers and a bridal shower in March at the home of Betty Coley hosted by family and friends.
