Ashley Lauren Chase and Jeremy Delendo Joyner of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 5 at 4 p.m. at United In Christ Church, with the Rev. Marty Gurganus officiating.

The bride is the daughter of James Robbie and Pamela Pittman Chase of Pikeville and the granddaughter of James Ray and Audrey Sasser Chase of Pikeville and Barbara Godwin of Goldsboro.

She is a 2002 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2007 graduate of Barton College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English education. She is employed as a 10th-grade English teacher at Southern Wayne High School.

The groom is the son of Billy Delendo and Lisa Joyner of Goldsboro and Kent and Geneverette Jackson Grantham of Grantham, the grandson of Betty Boykin Joyner, the late Garland Delendo Joyner, Jewel Jackson and the late Everette Jackson of Goldsboro and the stepgrandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Hinson and D.T. Grantham.

He is a 2002 graduate of Southern Wayne High School, a 2006 graduate of Mount Olive College with a Bachelor of Science degree in recreation and leisure studies and a 2008 graduate of East Carolina University with a Master of Arts degree in teaching with a concentration in physical education. He is employed as a physical education teacher at Southern Wayne High School.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a classic white strapless A-line dress with a satin bodice and a pleated drop waistband, an organza skirt overlay with chapel train, a design in pearls, rhinestones, beads and sequins.

Her headpiece was a fingertip-length veil embellished with rhinestones, beads and sequins.

The bride carried a silk bouquet of stargazer lilies accented with lime green hydrangea and purple impatiens.

Kim Jones was her cousin’s matron of honor, while Hailey Chase, sister of the bride, served as the maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Brandy Talton, Brook Wade, Kelly Mitchell and Summer Mitchell, cousins of the bride, and Crystal Gurley, friend of the bride.

Billy Delendo Joyner, father of the groom and Kent Grantham, stepfather of the groom, were the best men.

Groomsmen were Bradley Jones, Reding Pittman, Walter Render and Michael Gurganus, friends of the groom; Jeremy Chase, brother of the bride; and Garrett Joyner, brother of the groom.

Reagan Talton and Mackenzie Jones, cousins of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.

Zoey Mitchell and Miley Jones, cousins of the bride, were flower girls.

Ronnie Wade, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding, assisted by Cathy Mitchell and Terry Parnell, aunts of the bride, and Tina Mitchell, cousin of the bride. Presiding at the register was Kristin Smith, friend of the couple. Amanda Smith, friend of the couple, distributed the programs.

Special Helpers were Rylie Wade, Kylie Wade, Skyler Wade and Taylor Wade, cousins of the bride.

A program of wedding music was provided by Kevin and Amy Mooring, friends of the couple, pianists and vocalists, and Josh Parnell, cousin of the bride, and Jeremy Chase, brother of the bride, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at the church fellowship hall.

After their wedding trip to the Georgia mountains, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower April 25 at United in Christ Church hosted by the bride’s family; a lingerie shower April 29 at Texas Steakhouse hosted by the bride’s family; a miscellaneous shower May 2 at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church hosted by the groom’s family; a miscellaneous shower May 20 at Southern Wayne High School hosted by co-workers of the couple; a luau May 29 at Southern Wayne Country Club hosted by Jim and Gayle Saint-Amand and Bobby and Randy Holland, friends of the groom; and a pig-picking May 31 at White Lake hosted by Ted and Brandy Talton.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Murphy’s Place.
