CLAYTON — Staci Marie Barnes of Wilson and William Carter Adams exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 22 at 5 p.m. at The Wagner House, with the Rev. Darrell Williams, uncle of the groom, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dewey Eugene and Robin Peele Barnes of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Clenon “Big Jim” and Alice Faye Barnes, the late James Robert and Marie Wooten Peele of Pikeville.

She is a 2006 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School.

The groom is the son of Hartley Carter Adams Jr. and Ann Williams Adams of Wilson and the grandson of Nellie Reekes and the late Hartley Carter Adams Sr. of Emporia, Va., and the late W.D. and Katherine Hunter Williams of Whitakers.

He is a 2006 graduate of Fike High School. He is employed as the vice president at Adams Carpet One in Wilson.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory strapless A-line gown with hand-beaded floral embellishments with a scalloped chapel-length train.

Her headpiece was an ivory elbow veil accented with a double row of metallic beaded edge.

The bride carried a bouquet of ivory roses and black azalea.

Katie Mullins was her friend’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Brittany Adams, sister-in-law of the groom, and Elizabeth Adams, cousin of the groom.

Hartley Adams Jr. was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Mickey Adams, brother of groom, and Brandon Adams, cousin of the groom.

Gabriela Cruz, cousin of the groom, was flower girl. Carter Adams, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.

Dottie Garris directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kevin Prunest. Melissa Stevens distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Casey Sutton, John Wooten and Ricky Adams.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Wagner House .

After their wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Wilson..

Events held before the wedding included an engagement party Oct. 31 hosted by the groom’s parents; a stock-the-cellar party Nov. 14 hosted by Katie Mullins; a bridal shower March 20 hosted by the bride’s family; and a lawn and garden shower April 17 hosted by the groom’s family.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Morning Glory Inn in Clayton.
