WAKE FOREST — Niki Leigh Britt of Wake Forest and Thomas Collins Cooper III of Goldsboro were united in marriage June 19 at 6:30 p.m. at The Sutherland, with the Rev. John B. Ledford officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Keith Britt of Wake Forest and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas H. Sherron of Wake Forest and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Britt of Manson.

The bride is a 2004 honor graduate of Wakefield high school in Raleigh and a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Education degree in elementary education. She is pursuing academically gifted licensure. She was employed as an intervention teacher in Cary.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Collins Cooper Jr. of Goldsboro and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Jinnette of Goldsboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Cooper Sr. of Windsor.

He is a 2001 honor graduate of Southern Wayne High School and East Carolina University as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Education degree in middle grades education. He is employed as a middle school English language arts teacher in Pitt County.

The bride was escorted by her father and presented in marriage by her parents.

Paula Rendleman of Greensboro, sister of the groom, was matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Katie Eakes of Willow Springs and Lindsay Ingram of Richmond, Va., friends of the bride.

Collins Cooper was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Russell Jinnette of Windsor, cousin of the groom, Timothy Powell of Greenville and Bryan Ingram of Richmond, friends of the groom.

Jessica Rendleman, niece of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid.

Madison Stockdale, friend of the bride, was flower girl. Luke Stockdale, friend of the bride, was ringbearer.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at The Sutherland.

After their wedding trip, the couple will reside in Japan for a year as participants in the Japan Exchange Teaching Programme teaching English in Kobe.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner June 19 at Shuckers in Wake Forest.
