Allen - Bova
DUDLEY — Heather Jeanette Bova and Justin Wayne Allen exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 19 at 3 p.m. at Dudley Christian Church, with Blane Smith officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jeffrey Bova and Tammy Coker Bova of Dudley, the granddaughter of Carl and Hilda Gregory Hodnett, Faye Burroughs Wise, the late Bruce Coker and the late Billy Wise of Dudley and the great-granddaughter of Elizabeth Burroughs of Dudley.
She is a 2005 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2009 graduate of Pitt Community College with an associate degree in applied science/paralegal technology. She is employed as a paralegal with attorney Craig I. Bryant.
The groom is the son of Larry Allen and Lily Sutton of Goldsboro and Ricky and Betsy Faucette Lawhorn of Rosewood and the grandson of Allene Lawhorn of Goldsboro, the late Buddy and Rachel Allen of Pikeville and the late J.G. and Bessie Faucette of Rosewood.
He is a 2005 graduate of Rosewood High School and attends East Carolina University for a bachelor’s degree in business. He is employed as a sales associate with Brooks Brothers.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents and grandparents.
She bride wore a formal A-line gown of white satin. The strapless neckline was adorned with beads and sequins and trimmed in the color of poole. The back bodice featured a corset lace-up closure with poole trim flowing down the semi-cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a crown of rhinestones and crystals.
Kristen Bova was her sister’s maid of honor, while Deena Wells Sanders, friend of the bride, was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Leighanna Grady Kornegay, Morgan Wheeler and Sarah Barwick, friends of the couple; Virginia Allen, sister-in-law of the groom; and Hayleigh Wise, cousin of the bride.
Larry Allen served as his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jonathan and Jacob Allen, brothers of the groom; Ricky Lawhorn, stepfather of the groom; Chris Pearsall and Brad Batten, friends of the couple; and Kevin Wise Jr., cousin of the bride.
Ushers were Kevin Wise Sr. and Vince Bova, uncles of the bride.
Kendall Wise, cousin of the bride, and Mary-Katherine Allen, niece of the groom, were flower girls. Shane Coker, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Brandi Burroughs Hamm, cousin of the bride, and Carolyn Burroughs, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Aaronia Grady Womble, Sherry McCullen and Lauren Powers, friends of the couple.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jimmy Martin, vocalist, and Gary Millard, pianist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s family hosted a reception at the Community Life Center in Dudley.
After their wedding trip to Mexico and the Caribbean, the couple will reside in Rosewood.
Events held before the wedding included a lunch Sept. 4 hosted by co-workers of the bride; a bachelorette weekend in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Sept. 11-13 hosted by the bridesmaids; an engagement cookout/pool party hosted by the groom’s father and stepmother; a wedding shower at Dudley Christian Church hosted by the CWF ladies; a wedding shower at Dudley Christian Church hosted by the bride’s parents, grandparents and Wanda Bova; a surprise lingerie shower hosted by Kristen Bova and Deena Sanders; a wedding shower hosted by the groom’s mother, stepfather and Virginia Allen, Camilla Godwin, aunts of the groom, and friends; and a dinner hosted by Brandi Hamm, Viola Beamon and Carolyn Burroughs.
The groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner.
