PRINCETON — Heather Rae Woodard of Goldsboro and Christopher Brian Weeks of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth “Deacon” Jones, with the Rev. Steve Holder officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Ronnie R. Woodard and Shiela Woodard Bell of Princeton, the stepdaughter of Jay Bell of Princeton and the granddaughter of the late Leslie and Myrtle Wiggs Woodard of Princeton, Odis H. Baker of Smithfield and Edwin and Doris Phillips Eudy of Four Oaks.

She is a 1999 graduate of Princeton High School and a 2002 graduate of Lenoir Community College with a license in cosmetology. She is employed as a stylist at Sizzor Trix Salon and Spa.

The groom is the son of Christopher Marvin and Rose Taylor Weeks of Pikeville and the grandson of Glenniece Hires of Odum, Ga., and the late Marvin Weeks, the late Johnny Langley and Marie Langley of Goldsboro and Margie Taylor and the late Duncan Taylor of Kenly.

He is a 1998 graduate of Wayne Christian School, a 2003 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and a 2007 graduate of the University of Scranton with a Master of Science degree in school administration. He is employed as an assistant principal with Wayne County Public Schools

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by parents.

She wore a strapless ivory beaded lace trumpet-style gown with a sweep train. The charmeuse sash was adorned with a diamond broach.

Her headpiece was a single-layered ivory cathedral-length veil adorned with scattered pearls.

The bride carried a cascading bouquet of fuchsia orchids, white orchids and yellow roses.

Kailey Kincaid was flower girl.

Melinda M. Keener directed the wedding.

Joshua and Katlyn Geeson, Debra Kelman, Brittany Bradshaw and Daniel and Caitlyn Weeks were special helpers

Following the ceremony, an outdoor reception was held.

After their wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a lingerie shower at the home of Christine Daly hosted by Caitlyn Weeks and Melinda Keener and a groom’s shower at the home of Daniel Weeks.
