Bridgers - Reason
Heather Lynn Reason and Robert Allen Bridgers Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 18 at 4:30 p.m. at Princeton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael Coppock officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jerry Wayne and Pamela Combs Reason of Goldsboro, the granddaughter of Preston and Dorothy Hinson Reason of Snow Hill and Lily Rose Combs and William “Bud” and Betty Lou Combs of Goldsboro and the great-granddaughter of Lonie C. Worrell of Goldsboro.
She is a 2004 honor graduate of Rosewood High School and attends Johnston Community College for a teaching degree. She is employed with Johnston County Public Schools.
The groom is the son of Robert Allen Bridgers Sr. and Rebecca Pilgrim Bridgers of Dudley and the grandson of Robert G. Bridgers of Dudley, Roger and Lee Pilgrim of Forest City and the late Doris Mason Bridgers Shipton.
He is a 2005 graduate of Princeton High School. He attended Wilson Tech and Wayne Community College for welding and heavy machining. He is owner of Robert’s Lawn Service. He is employed as a truck driver/pro recycling with Goldsboro Milling.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal gown of ivory satin with a sweetheart neckline accent with wide beaded straps. The fitted bodice was adorned with swirl motifs that were beaded and ended in a Basque waistline. The full skirt was accented with box pleating in the front and back accented with beaded swirl motifs at the hemline that cascaded into a cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a tiara of rhinestones that extended into a single-tiered veil of silk illusion with a beaded edge and floral embroidery.
The bride carried a bouquet of silk summer Gerber daisies and white hydrangea accented with white seed pearls. The stems were cross-wrapped with fuchsia and kiwi green ribbon and pearls.
Kellie House was her friend’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Lauren Massey, friend of couple, and Lauren Davis and Bliss Parrish, friends of the bride.
Robert Allen Bridgers Sr. was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jesse Massey, friend of the couple; Jason Talton, brother-in-law of the groom; and Josh Woodard, friend of the groom.
Ushers were Adam Combs, cousin of the bride, and Lloyd Godwin and Matt Langley, friends of the groom.
Brandi Talton, sister of the groom, was honorary maid of honor.
Aiden House was flower girl.
Denise W. Combs directed the wedding, assisted by Shelley Thompson. Presiding at the register was Victoria Combs. Tyler Thompson distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Frankie Talton, pianist, and Jesse and Lauren Massey and Joshua House, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at St. Patrick’s Lodge in Princeton. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Mason greeted guests.
After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Dudley.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement party March 14 at Sleepy Creek Country Club hosted by the couple’s parents; a miscellaneous shower April 19 hosted by Jennifer Wood, Brenda Hill, Connie Johnson and Glenda Reason, aunts of the bride, and Dorothy Reason, grandmother; a pantry and recipe shower May 9 hosted by Kellie House and Kami Smith, friends of the bride; a household shower May 31 hosted by Denise Combs, aunt of the bride, and Lily Rose Combs, grandmother; a household shower June 7 hosted by Ella Harrison, friend of the bride; a tool and grill party June 13 at Sleepy Creek Hunting Club hosted by Jesse Massey and the couple’s fathers; a bridesmaids’ dinner June 13 at the Steak Barn hosted by the bride; a pantry shower June 27 hosted by Brandi Talton, sister of the groom, Angie Hinson, aunt of the groom, and the groom’s mother; a honeymoon shower June 27 hosted by Lauren Massey, friend of the bride; and a miscellaneous shower June 28 at the Gurley House in Princeton hosted by Princeton United Methodist Church’s women’s circle.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at St. Patrick’s Lodge.
