Allison Rebecca Scharadin of Goldsboro and John Everett Sinkhorn III of Winterville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 20 at 3 p.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dann Patrick officiating.

The bride is the daughter of James and Donna Scharadin of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Anna Scharadin and the late Charles Scharadin of Penney Farms, Fla., and Talton and Catherine Benfield of Goldsboro.

She is a 2004 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and a 2008 graduate of Southeastern Free Will Baptist College in Wendell with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She is employed as an elementary teacher at Jacksonville Christian Academy.

The groom is the son of John Everett Sinkhorn Jr. and Celia Sinkhorn of Norfolk, Va., and the grandson of the late John Everett Sinkhorn Sr. and Naomi Sinkhorn of Fairfax, Mo., and Goldie Hooks of Claypool, Ind.

He is a 2004 graduate of Emmanuel Christian Academy of Wabash, Ind., and a 2009 graduate of Southeastern Free Will Baptist College with a Bachelor of Science degree in pastoral theology and practical ministry. He is employed as a youth pastor at Immanuel Free Will Baptist Church of Winterville.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white satin A-line gown with cap sleeves, a chiffon split-front overlay and a fitted bodice accented with beads, seed pearls and sequins that flowed into a chapel-length train.

Her headpiece was a fingertip veil with a scalloped edge with beads, seed pearls and sequins.

The bride carried a bouquet of pastel hydrangeas and white miniature calla lilies accented with sequins and pearls.

Rachel Salmons, sister of groom, was matron of honor, while Stefanie Jones, friend of bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Julie Blankenship, Jesse Brannan, Ashley Nottonson, Nichole Rabon, Maggie Rouse and Crystal Taylor, friends of bride.

Cody Salmons, brother-in-law of groom, and Austin Pendergraft, friend of groom, were best men.

Groomsmen were Travis Bennett, James Bradford and Samuel House, friends of groom; Chase Bright, cousin of groom; Benjamin Gibson, friend of couple; and Ryan Scharadin, brother of the bride.

Kaylee Martin, friend of bride, was flower girl. Garrett Goodson, friend of bride, was ringbearer.

Paula Jones directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Kimberly Donaldson and Conner Harris. Meredith Harris and Krystene Hughes distributed programs. The bride’s third-grade class at Jacksonville Christian Academy, distributed bubbles.

A program of wedding music was provided by Susan Denton, pianist, and Bryan Arp, Kevin Denton, Fawn Gibson and April Lanvermeier, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Sam and Roxie Davis and Marc and Judy Holloman greeted guests.

After a wedding trip to Kissimmee, Fla., the couple resides in Winterville.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower Nov. 14 in Claypool hosted by Susan Manns; a lingerie shower April 18 hosted by Stefanie Jones and Jesse Brannan; a wedding shower May 2 hosted by the ladies of First Free Will Baptist Church of Jacksonville; a wedding shower May 14 hosted by the ladies of Faith Free Will Baptist Church; a wedding shower May 17 hosted by Immanuel Free Will Baptist Church of Winterville; and a pantry shower June 6 hosted by Catherine Benfield and Kerrie Mandeville.

A rehearsal dinner was held June 19 at Faith Free Will Baptist Church.
