Hatch - Owens
Tia Louise Owens of Fremont and Michael Jackson Hatch of Goldsboro exchanged vows in an outdoor double-ring ceremony May 23 at 6 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Campbell, with the Rev. Ira G. Williford officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Kenneth Washam of Fremont and Allen Emory Owens of Melbourne, Fla., and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy W. Teachey of Lucama, Louise Owens, Betty Washam and the late Lonnie Williams of Fremont and the late Jim Washam of Goldsboro.
She is a 2002 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a graduate of Johnston Community College with a degree in cosmetology. She is employed as a hairstylist at Studio 24 in Clayton.
The groom is the son of Linda Hatch of Clinton and the late Michael K. Hatch and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hatch and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Lee.
He is a 1996 graduate of Clinton High School. He is employed by Lane Tree Golf Course and is owner of M.J. Hatch Golf Equipment and Apparel.
The bride was escorted by her stepfather and given in marriage by her family.
She wore a formal empire waist gown with a bodice enhanced with rhinestones and pearls.
Her headpiece was a birdcage veil attached to a comb and rhinestone broach.
The bride carried an arrangement of peonies and white roses wrapped, tied and knotted with her great-grandmother’s handkerchief and pinned with a pin that belonged to her great-grandmother. She also carried a handkerchief given to her by the groom’s mother.
Tracy Owens Pittman of Pikeville was her sister’s matron of honor, while Trina Allyn Owens of Raleigh, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.
Franki L. Paul of Fremont, cousin of the bride, was the bridesmaid.
Linda Hatch was her son’s best woman.
Groomsmen were Jason Smith, cousin of the groom, and Brandon Campbell, friend of the groom.
Katie Brown of Raleigh, friend of the bride, was the honorary bridesmaid.
Alicia Leeper of Ohio was Scripture reader.
Billie Jean Whitfield directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Miranda Rackley and Joy Ingram.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception on the lawn of the Campbell home. Susie Teachey of Pikeville and Renee Holloman of Raleigh, aunts of the bride, cut the wedding cake.
After a wedding trip, the couple resides in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower at Saulston United Methodist Church hosted by aunts of the bride; a cookout and lawn and garden shower at the home of Jason Smith hosted by aunts and uncles of the groom; a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the home of Tracy Pittman hosted by Ms. Pittman, Franki and Brenda Paul and Trina Owens; and a shower at Studio 24 hosted by co-workers of the bride.
The groom’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner May 22 at the Campbell home.
