APEX — Jessica Ann Woodard of Cary and Matthew Stephen Adams of Cary exchanged vows in an outdoor double-ring ceremony May 16 at 6 p.m. at the home of the bride’s parents, with the Rev. David Heath officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Raymond Daniel Woodard Jr. and Rebecca Nichols Woodard of Apex and the granddaughter of Mary Howell Woodard and the late Raymond Daniel Woodard Sr. of Goldsboro, the late Morris Earl Nichols of Dona Vista, Fla., and Annie Belle Nichols of Mount Dora, Fla.

She is employed as a merchandise coordinator at TJ Maxx.

The groom is the son of Paul Robert Adams Jr. and Sandy Mikkelsen Adams of Apex and the grandson of Paul Robert Adams Sr. and Barbara Adams of Buffalo, N.Y., and Lois Mikkelsen and the late Harold Mikkelsen of Lodi, N.Y.

He is employed as manager at Michaelangelos Pizza.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

She wore a sleeveless, floor-length gown of white linen with a square neckline, a dropped Basque waist and a cathedral train. The princess seamed bodice and full skirt were accented with lace appliqués.

Her headpiece was a chapel-length of antique Venise lace attached to a beaded comb of crystals and pink and white freshwater pearls. She also wore antique floating-opal earrings belonging her late grandmother.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white, yellow, peach, coral and freedom roses wrapped with white satin and aqua organdy ribbon.

Alissa Pender was matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kari Storum and Shelley Stowe.

Christopher DiNardo was best man.

Groomsmen were Bryan Goetze and Maxwell Woodard, brother of the bride.

Marilyn Shores directed the wedding.

A program of wedding music was provided.

Following the ceremony, an outdoor reception was held. The theme was “Bohemian spring.” A four-tiered wedding cake of coconut pound cake with mango filling decorated with a cascade of fresh roses, lilies, carnations and freesias was served.

After a wedding trip to the Outer Banks and a family camping trip to Jordan Lake, the couple resides in Cary.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower at the home of Marilyn Shores in Apex hosted by Mrs. Shores and Sandra W. Turner, aunt of the bride, at the home of Mrs. Shores.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner May 15 at Lucky 32 Restaurant in Cary.
