Merrill - Custer
Sarah Lynn Custer and Ryan Lee Merrill exchanged vows in a single-ring ceremony June 6 at 3 p.m. at Whitley Church, with Andy Stovall officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ricky Lynn and Sheila Gail Custer of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Clyde William Custer of Newell, W. Va., and the late Rosa Schamberger Custer and the late Alton Bruce Mobley and Margaret Elizabeth English of Goldsboro.
She is a 2007 graduate of Pathway Christian Academy and attends Wayne Community College for a degree in medical transcriptioning and medical insurance certification.
The groom is the son of Ronnie Lee and Deborah Deanne Merrill of Goldsboro and the grandson of Raymond Leon and Deloris May-Belle Merrill of Attica, Ind., and Waltor Dale and Donna Mae Simonton of Williamsport, Ind.
He is a 2006 honor graduate of Rosewood High School and attends Wayne Community College for an associate in arts degree.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal A-line gown of white satin. The strapless neckline was enhanced with spaghetti straps and adorned with beads and sequins trimmed in poole. The back bodice featured a corset lace-up corset closure with poole trim cascading down into a semi-cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a two-tier veil of silk illusion with a penciled edge accented with pearls and crystals. She also wore a pearl necklace that belonged to her grandmother.
The bride carried a bouquet of Gerber daisies and stephanotis with pearls.
Gail Pierce was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Cassandra Merrill and Sierra Baer.
Andrew Merrill was best man.
Groomsmen were Cory Merrill and Dwayne Pierce.
Ushers were Johnnie Mobley and Michael Hall.
Taryn Wall was flower girl. Codey Pierce was ringbearer.
Kirsten Stovall directed the wedding.
After a wedding trip to Raleigh, the couple resides in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower at Whitley Church hosted by the church choir.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Whitley Church.
