NORTH TOPSAIL BEACH — Patricia Ann Flake of Currie and Thomas Daniel Thornton of Supply exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 16 at 6 p.m. at Oceanside St. Regis Resort, with Chris Wroten officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Loyce Flake Long and the late Richard Haywood Flake of Currie and the granddaughter of the late Carl Flake and Ethel Flake Harts of Rocky Point and Frank Rivenbark and the late Dorothy Moore Rivenbark of Currie.

She graduated from the East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in community health education. She is employed as a health promotion coordinator with Pender County Health Department.

The groom is the son of Dillon Thornton of Raleigh and the late Brenda Jones Jordan of Grantham and the grandson of Edna Thornton and the late Thomas Thornton of Grantham, the late Daniel Jones of Pikeville and the late Haddie Jones of Rosewood.

He graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental studies. He is employed as a soil scientist with the Brunswick County Health Department.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her mother.

Kelly Harrell Satterly was matron of honor, while Monique Hayes was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Lisa Reedy and Stephanie Thornton.

Dillon Thornton was best man.

Groomsmen were Dillon Thornton Jr., Allen Hales and George Thornton.

Megan Satterly was the junior bridesmaid.

Presiding at the register were Tyler Reedy and Blake Best. Kaysie Thornton and Christopher Reedy distributed programs.

Brittany Spivey was Scripture reader.

A program of wedding music was provided by Minsky Delmonte, drummer, and Hallie Luke, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Atlantis Restaurant at St. Regis Resort.

After a wedding trip to Maui the couple will reside in Currie.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the Pilot House in Wilmington hosted by aunts of the bride and an engagement party and bridal showers hosted by family and friends.

A rehearsal dinner was held at the Surf City Welcome Center in Surf City.
