Charles - McAllister
PINE LEVEL — Melissa Anne Charles and Christopher John McAllister, both of Cary, exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 9 at 6 p.m. at Hinnant Family Vineyard, with the Rev. Andy Stovall officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jeffery Leonard and Brenda Gail Charles and the granddaughter of Harril “Charlie” Charles, the late Lucille Helen Charles, Annie Ruth Roberts Edgerton and the late Urban J. Roberts, all of Goldsboro.
She is a 2003 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and a 2008 graduate of Barton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority Theta Omega Chapter and the American Nurses Association. She is employed as a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The groom is the son of Sherry Ann McAllister of Pikeville and the grandson of Marion Franklin and Mary Elizabeth Brown of Albertson.
He is a 2002 honor graduate of Charles B. Aycock and a 2006 honor graduate of Barton College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in photography. He is employed as a regional manager for Integrity Group of Raleigh.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an A-line dress of sheer organza over silky satin with a sweetheart neckline and a chapel-length train. Beaded swirl motifs decorated the bodice, skirt and hemline. There was a tone-on-tone sash at the natural waistline and broach-like bead work in the center.
Christina Langley was her sister’s matron of honor, while Summer Pittman, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Amanda Kanipe and Sarah Weaver, friends of the bride.
Robert McAllister Jr. was his brother’s best man.
Groomsmen were Allen Montrose, cousin of the groom, and Brandon Stinson and Richard Horsley, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Yemi Fadahunsi, friend of the couple, and Michael McAllister, brother of the groom.
Kaylee Horsley was flower girl.
George Stinson was the ringbearer.
Presiding at the register were Rick and Charlotte Charles. Randy and Bradley McAllister distributed programs.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner and dance reception at Hinnant Family Vineyards. A four-layered traditional-style wedding cake with green grapes and dried grape vines with scroll design details was served.
After a wedding trip to Florence, Rome, Venice and Sorrento, Italy, the couple will reside in Cary.
Events held before the wedding included a Christmas shower Dec. 13 in Wilson hosted by the bridesmaids; a kitchen and Rada Cutlery shower Feb. 22 at the home of the bride’s parents hosted by the groom’s mother; a Pampered Chef party March 15 at the home of Matthew and Christina Langley hosted by Ms. Langley, sister of the bride; a wedding shower March 22 at the home of Frank and Lib Brown, grandparents of the groom, hosted by Ms. Brown and Tammie Brown, aunt of the groom; a girls’ night out including a cookout at the bride’s parents’ home hosted by the bridal party on March 28; and a passion party May 2 at the couple’s home.
The groom’s mother and grandparents held a rehearsal dinner at the VFW hall in Pine Level May 8.
