KITTY HAWK — Amanda Corrie Talton of Yorktown, Va., and Jim Wade Hickerson of Gloucester, Va., exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 25 at 4:30 p.m. at Bald View Bed and Breakfast, with the Rev. Jimmy C. Whitfield officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Cyrus R. and Sheila Goff Talton of Pikeville and the granddaughter of the late Mack Duffie and Bertha Lee Talton of Pikeville and Kathryn Forehand Goff and the late James R. Goff of Goldsboro.

She graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1997, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001 with Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and religious studies and Regent University in Chesapeake, Va., in 2003 with Master of Arts degree in counseling. She is employed as a licensed professional counselor at Family Preservation Services.

The groom is the son of Dennis Mac Hickerson of Tatum, Texas, and Mary Faggins Hickerson of Troup, Texas.

He graduated from Tatum High School in 1990. He is a chief petty officer in the United States Coast Guard.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a diamond-white gown with a drop waist and a lace bodice with a sweetheart neckline and lace-up closure. The tiered skirt was accentuated with pleated tulle layers.

Her headpiece was a tiara of pearls and rhinestones with a one-layered designer veil with accents of clear bugle beads, sequins and seed beads along an embroidered floral, scalloped design that flowed down toward the mid-calf.

The bride carried a bouquet of white tulips surrounded by white nerine lilies with a silver starfish charm and a silver sand dollar charm given to the bride by her great-aunt, the late Inez Goff Long, entwined

Trista Talton Bolenbaugh of Jacksonville was her sister’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Jessica Fitch Sulzen of Holly Springs, friend of the bride, and Christine Elliott Virgin of Silver Spring, Md., college friend of the bride.

Ashton Wade Hickerson of Chesapeake was his father’s best man.

Groomsmen were Dennis Hickerson, father of the groom, and Jason Wheeler of Tatum, Texas, friend of the groom.

Bret Miller of Yorktown, Va., friend of the groom, was the usher.

Elijah Mack Duffie Bolenbaugh of Jacksonville, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Stacy Evans of Charlotte, friend of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kacy Goff Lingle of Boone, cousin of the bride.

A program of wedding music was provided by Carolyn Castania of Fremont, pianist and vocalist, great-aunt of the bride; Dr. Jim Goff of Boone, vocalist, uncle of the bride, and Luke Forehand of Goldsboro, guitarist and vocalist, cousin of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Pier House at Hilton Garden Inn in Kitty Hawk. Connie Goff of Boone, aunt of the bride, was director.

After a wedding trip to Athens and Santorini Island, Greece, the couple resides in San Diego, Calif.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower March 7 at the home of Terry Barbato hosted by Ms. Barbato, Kim Wall, Debbie Ross and Donna Gaddis, cousins of the bride; a bridesmaids’ luncheon cruise March 28 aboard The Spirit of Norfolk in Norfolk, Va., hosted by the bride’s mother, during which time the bride presented gifts to her attendants; a bridal tea shower April 4 at Alice’s Place in Winston-Salem hosted by Connie Goff and Carolyn Castania, aunts of the bride, and Kacy Lingle and Sarah Goff, cousins of the bride; and a bachelorette weekend and lingerie shower hosted by Trista Bolenbaugh, sister of the bride, and Kim Speed, co-worker of the bride.

The groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Kelly’s Restaurant in Kitty Hawk.
