Carli Sterling Peacock and Chad Lee Strickland exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. at Lane Tree Golf Club, with Pastor Andy Stovall officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Tim and Arlene Peacock of Princeton, the step-granddaughter of Willie Evans of Wilson and the granddaughter of the late Hazel Evans, Norman Snipes and Paul and Eula Peacock.

She is a 1999 graduate of Princeton High School. She is employed as a data manager at Corinth-Holders Elementary School in Zebulon.

The groom is the son of Ray and Betty Strickland of Mar Mac and the grandson of Estel Ballance of Goldsboro and the late Lak Balance of Mar Mac.

He is a 1999 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. He is employed as a diesel mechanic at White’s International.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a delustered satin strapless princess-cut gown with redingote front and beaded cranberry embroidery on the front and back with a chapel-length train.

Her headpiece was a crystal tiara with a crystal beaded veil.

The bride carried a bouquet of red roses accented with baby’s breath and greenery wrapped in sparkling silver ribbon with pearl accent pins.

Lisa Walker of Princeton was her friends’ matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Renee Ormond and Megan Peacock of Princeton.

Ray Strickland of Mar Mac was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen and ushers were Robert Ormond of Princeton and J.C. Tillman of Pikeville.

Hannah Walker, friend of the bride, was flower girl. Gavin Gray, son of the bride, was ringbearer.

Hunter Peacock was escorted by Robert Ormond in officiating as the acolyte.

Kathy Thornton directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Bridgette Walker of Princeton, friend of the bride. Emily Walker of Princeton, friend of the bride, distributed wedding programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by the couple.

Special helpers were Julie Woodring and Kathy Lassiter.

Following the ceremony, a buffet and dance reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Club.

After a wedding trip to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and a cruise to Freeport, Grand Bahamas, the couple resides in Pikeville.

Events held before the wedding included a naughty-and-nice bridal shower Feb. 7 at the home of Renee Ormond hosted by the matron of honor and bridesmaids; a bachelor and bachelorette party Feb. 21 at the Laugh out Loud Comedy Club hosted by the matron of honor, bridesmaids, groomsmen and friends; a bridal tea luncheon Feb. 27 at the Royal Tea Room hosted by the bride’s mother; and a girls’ afternoon outing Feb. 27.

The couple hosted a rehearsal dinner Feb. 27 at Lane Tree Golf Club.
