Mrs. Schultze

Laura Gale May and William Jason Schultze of Clayton exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 22 at 4 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Adam Seate officiating.

The bride is the daughter of William Joseph and Patsy May of Pikeville and the granddaughter of the late Bertice and Beulah May of Pikeville and Bethel Thorne and the late John M. Thorne Jr. of Battleboro.

She graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School and attends East Carolina University for a teaching degree. She is employed with Brogden Primary School.

The groom is the son of E. William Schultze Jr. and Debbie Schultze of Kenly and the grandson of Rose C. Jones of Surf City, the late Truett Jones, Rae S. Boykin and the late Alfred E. Boykin of Kenly and the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Schultze of Selma.

He graduated from J.B. Hunt High School in Wilson and North Carolina State University. He is employed as a retail manager at Stock Building Supply of Apex.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Christy Cox of Clayton was matron of honor, while Jennifer Pittman of Raleigh was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Angie Shelton, Sara Sutton and Lindsay Killette of Goldsboro, Hannah Lee of Raleigh and Erin Schultze of Smithfield.

E. William Schultze Jr., father of the groom, and Tyler Schultze, brother of the groom, were best men.

Groomsmen were Christopher Radford of Wilmington, Fred Cox of Clayton, Jonathon Pope and Hunter Barnes of Sims and Dustin Jones of Raleigh.

Ushers were Chad Barfield of Clayton, Ryan Beamon of Walstonburg, Justin Stanley of Elkin and Timothy Webb of Stantonsburg.

Deborah Lane directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Agnes Smith. Gale Joyner of Rocky Mount and Teresa Bogue of Wilson distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Bess Sawyer, pianist and organist, and Jonathan Pope and Meredith Karcher, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.

After a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple reside in Calyton.

Events held before the wedding included a bachelor weekend and Panthers game in Charlotte hosted by the groomsmen; a bachelorette weekend in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by the bridesmaids; a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the couple’s home hosted by the bride; a wedding shower at St. Luke United Methodist Church hosted by family and friends; a wedding shower at Marsh Swamp Original Free Will Baptist Church in Rock Ridge hosted by family and friends; and an engagement pool party at the home of the groom’s parents hosted by the couple’s parents.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Nov. 21 at Walnut Creek Country Club.
