Glenda Lashon Carroll and Rory Andre’ Worrells exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 11 at 3:30 p.m. at Greater Guiding Star Holy Church, with Elder W.C. Hutchins officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Levonne Carroll of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Percy Carroll and Lillie Mae Swift of Goldsboro.

She graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1991 and attended Wayne Community College. She is employed as a correctional sergeant with the Department of Corrections.

The groom is the son of William Hobbs and Diane Worrells of Goldsboro and the grandson of Anniebell Hobbs, the late James Hobbs Sr., the late Linwood Lee and Mary W. Worrells of Goldsboro.

He graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1991 and D.Z. Barber College in Fayetteville. He is employed as a barber at His Point of View.

The bride was escorted by Donnell and Maurice Carroll and given in marriage by her brothers.

She wore an ivory silk halter gown with clear embroidery at the bodice and ruffles throughout the attachable train.

Her headpiece was a diamond tiara with an ivory tulle veil trimmed with silk.

The bride carried burnt orange and ivory roses wrapped with chocolate silk ribbons..

Tracie Holden was matron of honor, while Tiffany Alexander was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Mrs. Lashawna Carroll, sister-in-law; Patricia Carter, cousin of the bride; LuKisha Knox and Tracy Wirght, friends of the bride; and Latrice Worrells, cousin of the groom.

David Rogers Jr. and David Wiliams were best men.

Groomsmen were Reggie Lewis, Tony Moore, Alvin Pitts, James Rodgers and Temele Williams,, friends of the groom, and Waylon Worrells, cousin of the groom.

Ushers were Rodney Holden, Allen Sutton and Tony Swinson.

Breyah Carroll and Brittney Carroll, nieces of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.

A’niyah Jennette and Korrie McEachern were flower girls. Keonte Henry, son of the bride, was ringbearer.

Montina Swift directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Daine Dixon.

Keshonte’ Henry, son of the bride, was the town crier.

Hostesses were Angela Alexander, godsister of the bride; Latonya Atkinson; Katina Darden, and Tammy Harding-Reid, friends of the bride; Teshaun Rodgers, friend of the couple; Patrice Worrells, cousin-in-law of the groom.

A program of wedding music was provided by Elder Wyatt Ragland Jr., pianist, and Elder Wyatt Ragland Jr. and Lashonda Wooten, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni building.

After a wedding trip to Mrytle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bachelorette party Oct. 4 in Fayetteville hosted by Tiffany Alexander; a bridal shower Sept. 27 at Herman Park Center hosted by Tracie Holden, Tiffany Alexander, Latrice Worrells and Patrica Carter; and a bridal shower Sept. 26 at Olive Garden in Raleigh hosted by the bridesmaids.

A rehearsal dinner as held Oct. 10 at the home of the groom’s mother.
