Pittman - Owens
Tracy Lynne Owens of Fremont and Anthony Everett Pittman of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. at United in Christ Church, with the Rev. Ira G. Williford officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Kenneth Washam of Fremont and Allen Emory Owens of Melbourne, Fla., and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy W. Teachey of Lucama, Louise Owens, Betty Washam and the late Lonnie Williams of Fremont and the late Jim Washam of Goldsboro.
She is a 1999 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2004 and 2008 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in elementary education curriculum and instruction. She is employed as a third-grade teacher at Fremont STARS Elementary School.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Pittman of Goldsboro and the grandson of Dennis Jones, the late Sue Jones and Louise Jones of Goldsboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Pittman of Morehead City.
He is a 2001 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. He is employed in sales at Performance East.
The bride was given in marriage by her family.
She wore a formal strapless sweetheart neckline gown with a bodice of pearls and beading. The A-line skirt cascaded into a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a two-tiered elbow-length veil attached to a comb of pearls.
The bride carried an arrangement of lavender and white roses with rhinestone pin centers and freesia. It was wrapped in her late grandfather’s handkerchief, tied and knotted with her great-grandmother’s handkerchief and pinned with a pin belonging to her great-grandmother.
Tia Louise Owens of Goldsboro and Trina Allyn Owens of Raleigh were their sister’s maids of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Deans Lancaster of Goldsboro, Amber Hill Sauls of Greenville, Sara Beth Gray Harris of Fremont and Kori Lynn Buckner of Winston-Salem, friends of the bride, and Frances Lorraine Paul of Fremont, cousin of the bride.
Lonnie Earl Pittman was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Goobie Miller Lancaster, Wyatt Stewart Whitley and Travis Roy Lipcsak of Goldsboro, Joseph Scott Lee, Brandon Edward Hart and Joseph Ryan Lynch of Raleigh and Christopher Bryan Waddell of Greenville, friends of the groom.
Lindsey Elizbeth Howard, Mildred Gretchen Barber and Jenna Gray Wooten of Raleigh, friends of the bride, were honorary bridesmaids.
Michael Jackson Hatch, William Jesse Tillman and Travis Neal Weeks of Goldsboro, friends of the groom, were honorary groomsmen.
Dellaney Caroline Frederick of Goldsboro was flower girl. Blinson James Frederick of Goldsboro was ringbearer.
Teresa Odom directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Mr. and Mrs. Michael Douglas Stevens of Princeton, friends of the couple. Jaimee Sharp Weeks and Elizabeth Waller Lynch, friends of the couple, distributed programs.
Special helpers were Tobie Girard and Scarlett Beamon.
A program of wedding music was provided by Camille Frederick, pianist, and Jim Grant, Michelle Hamm and Heidi Kearney, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Club. Mr. and Mrs. Joey Paul of Fremont greeted guests. Susie Teachey and Renee Holloman of Raleigh, aunts of the bride, cut the wedding cake.
After a wedding trip, the couple reside in Pikeville.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Oct. 17 at United in Christ Church fellowship hall.
